Hello! I'm Tyler, the artist and creator behind InkCap Illustrations. You can call me Tyler or Inkcap, it doesn’t matter to me. I hail from coastal Maine, where my earliest creative inspirations sprouted from exploring the woods and delving into fantastical stories as a timid child. Despite facing trauma at a young age, my family always encouraged me to express myself wholeheartedly. Art became a constant companion, offering solace in distressing times, and remains my outlet to this day.

I honed my artistic skills with the guidance of my grandmother, a great watercolorist. Following high school, I pursued graphic design at art school for a few years. Eventually I chose to leave to embark on my own art journey in freelance illustration. Transitioning from the original name "Triton Artworks" to the current identity of InkCap Illustrations. InkCap Illustrations specializes in detailed fine-lined figures, blending nature studies and fantastical lore with a touch of humor. In fact InkCap refers to a common mushrooms which appears as if ink is spilling from it’s cap (Coprinopsis atramentaria). My artwork aims to provide comfort to those overwhelmed, offering a sense of escapism to appreciate the little things or evoke nostalgia.

Away from the drafting table with my watercolor and ink, you can find me enjoying nature hikes, collecting vinyl, antiques and crystals, playing chess, hanging out with my partner, Erik, and our two cats, George and Byron.
